Privacy policy
Jidhr (جذر) is a daily Arabic word game, on the web (jidhr.app) and as an Android and iOS app. It works without an account: your progress stays on your device, and we only measure how the game is used anonymously.
Effective October 16, 2026.
In short
- No account, no name, no email address, no phone number.
- No ads, no advertising ID, no data sold or rented.
- Your games, results, streaks and settings are stored on your device only.
- Usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) tell us how the game is used, without knowing who you are.
Data stored on your device
The game stores on your phone or in your browser: your games in progress and finished, your results and statistics, your day streak, your moon balance (the currency for hints), your settings (level, font, digits, theme, reminder) and the time of your recent games, used to choose the reminder time. This data is not sent to anyone. It is erased when you uninstall the app or clear the site's data in your browser.
Usage analytics
To improve the game, we use Google Analytics for Firebase, a Google service. It receives:
- game events, for example: game started, won or lost (with the game, puzzle number, duration, number of mistakes and hints, level), share, streak reached, app opened, reminders accepted;
- a random installation identifier, specific to the game, which does not identify you;
- technical information: device model, operating system, app version, language, and approximate country or region derived from the IP address (Google does not store the IP address itself).
We have turned off the collection of the advertising ID and device identifiers, and any advertising use of this data. On the website, this measurement uses no cookies: Google Analytics only receives cookieless signals. The browser keeps only a technical Firebase installation ID (local storage, no advertising use). Data is kept for at most 14 months, then deleted.
Reminders
If you turn them on, daily reminders are notifications scheduled on your device: no server sends them to you. You can turn them off in the game's settings or your phone's settings.
Puzzles and hosting
Daily puzzles are downloaded from jidhr.app, hosted by Google (Firebase Hosting). Like any web server, the host processes your IP address to answer the request and may keep it briefly in technical logs, for the security of the service.
Sharing
When you share a result, you choose the app (WhatsApp or another). The shared text contains your colour grid and the puzzle number, no personal data.
Children
The game is suitable for children who read Arabic. It asks them for no information and only collects the anonymous usage analytics described above, with no ads.
Recipients and transfers
Only Google, as a processor (Firebase), receives analytics and hosting data. It may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards provided by Google (European Commission standard contractual clauses).
Your rights
You can erase your game data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing the site's data. Depending on your country (for example the GDPR in the European Union), you have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, and object to its processing. As we do not know who you are, write to us and we will help you. You may also contact the data protection authority of your country.
Contact
Controller: Jidhr. For any question about your data: contact@jidhr.app.
Changes
If the game changes (for example with a subscription), this page will be updated before the change, with its new date.
